30.5.2015 | LET'S MAKE SOME VOICE!

The human voice arises from the body, but a personal sound and performance has much to do with one's own emotion, identity, self-awareness and self-consciousness - This is the sentiment which the LET'S MAKE SOME VOICE! workshop built upon, as David Buschmann introduced us to the various ways of using and supporting our voice.

On this Saturday afternoon in Bohemian Soul, David introduced the group (ranging from musicians, singers, medic students to the simply intrigued!) to basic techniques which help to maximise voice usage, such as breathing and posture, tips for speeches/presentations, singing and the often overlooked cultural and social influences on our voices.

With a mixture of body awareness exercises, chorus singing and a game of individual performances which captured the different ways voices are used (such as fairy tale telling and news reporting), David created a relaxed and often hilarious experience which opened our mind to our individual capabilities and understanding of what it means to have and use our voices!
